Refresher Course for Teachers - Bendigo - April Holidays

I just received this information from Joy Greenway in Bendigo about a Refresher Course for teachers who have been out of the system or only working as a CRT for the last 3 years and who wouldn't mind spending three days in Bendigo during part of the School holidays - April 12th ,13th and 14th. Note that you must be VIT registered and it does not matter if you have been teaching interstate during that time. It is not for new Graduate teachers.

All the information , including application forms are attached. I have not applied for funding for this PD but am confident some funding would be available for those CRTs who fit the criteria. I am away in Darwin from Wednesday March 23rd until April 5th, but will contact Terrie at DEET as soon as I get feedback that someone wishes to go.Robert Hillier

March 16th Meeting

THE MEETING TONIGHT AT THE SETTLERS covered most of the issues mentioned in the last email .

I will attach a copy of the points mentioned. We have one vacancy for the THRASS Conference being held on next Thursday & Friday( March 24-25th) as Serena Jenkins got funding to go from both her School and from me via DEET so there is one funded position available for one CRT to go if they are quick and contact me no later than tomorrow night as a late fee applies if you register in the last 5 days.

If you go you also need to be prepared to run a workshop on THRASS for the other interested CRTs later in the year.

New PD ONLINE

I was given a user Manual ( which I will circulate at our next meeting  about the New Process  called PD ONLINE.

It is an online booking service which allows users to book a place for professional development courses being offered by their regional office of the Department of  Education and Early Childhood development ( DEECD). I these regins it replaces the more traditional "phone and Fax methods of bookinjg PD that were used in the past. As well as being a booking service,

PD ONLINE also records your future PD commitments and keeps a personal track of your past for Professional Development for VIT registration purposes. It is meant to be simple to use , but there is a Help menu on the website  and you can contact the Administration desk on (03)90159606 between 9 am and 5pm Monday to Friday if you need further help.
